Course par is the course’s benchmark. True Par adds your allocated handicap strokes to create your personal hole target. You still see gross score, course par and Stableford. True Par does not issue an official handicap; you can use an official Handicap Index maintained elsewhere or the app’s clearly labelled WHS-style managed scoring record.
Can I play without an account or phone signal?+
Yes. Start scoring as a guest and save your course card while you have reception. Your saved scorecard and scores stay on the device offline. A free account adds saved history and cloud sync when you reconnect. New course searches and satellite maps need a connection, and live GPS needs location permission and usable course coordinates.
Is the app available to download?+
True Par is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, with an Apple Watch companion. Use Download for iPhone to open the listing. Join the Android launch list for public-release news; Android and Wear OS are currently in testing. The newest designs shown here may arrive in a later update.
What happens to my rounds if I stop using Plus?+
Your saved round history and history import remain available with a free account, with readable and exportable scorecards. Advanced analysis and other Plus features require an active subscription or promotion.
Is coaching included in Plus?+
No. Private coaching is a separate pilot. You choose a verified coach and the information they can access. Free and pilot services depend on what the coach offers. Paid swing reviews and live-video bookings are coming later. In-person arrangements are between you and the coach.
Can True Par run our golf event?+
Free hosts can organise up to 8 players; Plus hosts can organise up to 24. Players join, score and follow leaderboards free. Plus organiser tools include schedules, groups, multi-round setup, QR scorecards and print packs. Cup formats include singles, better ball and pairs scramble. Larger paid event passes are not yet available.
What is being tested for the future?+
AI Swing Lab is a private evaluation for consented test videos, structured swing reviews and optional synthetic narration. It is not a generally available Plus feature. True Trace is a separate product; automatic ball tracing is not a True Par feature.
