What is True Par?

True Par is a golf app that adjusts the target on each hole using your Handicap Index or playing handicap, then shows gross score, score versus course par, score versus True Par and Stableford together, so you can see how you really played and plan for the next round.

Is True Par an official handicap?

Accepted Answer

No. True Par does not issue an official handicap. You can use an existing official Handicap Index maintained elsewhere, or its clearly labelled WHS-style managed scoring record. It is a fair personal target, not an official index.

Can I use True Par as a guest?

Yes. Continue as a guest for quick, device-local scoring without an account, or create an account when you want sync, history and the full event and coaching experience.

Does True Par work offline?

Yes. Active rounds persist locally and survive poor connectivity or an app restart, so scoring works offline. GPS distances and hole maps are available when course coordinates and your location are available.

How is location used?

True Par uses your location only while you are using GPS features, such as front, middle and back distances and hole maps. It does not use background location.

Which watches work with True Par?

Apple Watch, Wear OS and selected Garmin watches via Connect IQ can show round state, hole information, score entry and on-course distances. Availability depends on compatible hardware, platform permissions and the released store build.

What does a coach see?

Accepted Answer

Only what you consent to share with that coach, such as summary stats, round history, hole-by-hole scoring, shot tracking and club distances, and only for the rounds you include. You can add a private note per coach, and report or block within a conversation.

Can I delete my True Par account?

Yes. Delete an authenticated account inside Settings in the app, or follow the steps on the True Par delete-account page, which explains both in-app deletion and the support fallback.

Are AI results guaranteed?

Accepted Answer

No. AI round analysis is decision support that may be incomplete or mistaken. It is based on your saved scoring and tracking facts, and is not guaranteed professional instruction.
